🏈 News and notes: Tide's McCarron has moved up the depth chart

He will push Greg...that is by design. Greg will have to absolutely self-destruct in order for AJ to start next year, but it is possible to see him this year.

Is this something you think is because of Greg's experience and A.J's lack of experience. I guess meaning no one would have likely expected that A.J would come in and surpass Star so quickly but due to lack of experience in games it does only come down to skill set when comparing A.J and Star. With Greg though because he will have an entire season under him of game time experience A.J doesn't present a big enough skill gap to make himself a starter over Greg.

If Star was even a little better at passing he would be number 2 by a long shot. I really hope he gets his passing down and get better at learning the schemes because with his athletic ability I think he would make for an awesome weapon for us.

But, this is coming from a guy that hasn't seen much of AJ just videos from high school. But, if Phillip is all he is cracked up to be it won't matter where AJ is because Phillip will be the QB. IMHO.

What's interesting to me is while AJ will have a season under his belt, it'll be his first spring camp next year. It'll also be Sims first spring camp considering he's said the plans are to enroll early.

I honestly don't care how it shakes out. We'll have four scholarshipped QB's fighting for positions in the spring and fall—all talented. It's a sweet position to be in!
