they just said at the end of the Rose Bowl, that in 3 hours, they are rolling up the turf to install new turf for the big game.

this is the first time this has occurred.

What's more, after the BCS title game, the Alabama and Texas end zones, as well as the midfield logo, will be parceled into 3-by-3-inch sections, freeze dried and preserved under glass, then sold as game-used collectibles. The first batch of mementos will be made available to the players and their families.

The Rose Bowl Committee folks take their stadium very seriously. It would be like the folks at Augusta National throwing down some new sod leading up to the Masters... they'll do it right, and it will look awesome.

Agreed. They are no Mickey Mouse outfit. The field will look awesome. The Rose Bowl is a big name with a huge reputation to uphold.

Great. Did anyone see the Capital One game today? That field looked absolutely terrible, and I'm certain I heard they did the same thing. :frown:

I'll pose this question to all of you, one that I still can't answer. When was the last time you say a game with a field THAT bad...that it, the CAPITAL ONE Bowl?

I completely agree....I am very concerned our field will turn out like the Captial One game....How do they expect grass to take root in like 5 days? I am sure people are going to be walking on it all week in game preparations. ...................That is crazy! If I were Saban I would have a plan in case the turf was like mush.

I highly doubt the Rose Bowl Committee would allow it to get that bad. They know what they're doing.
