I awoke this morning and had to go to YouTube and take a look at what I foreshadow tomorrow. I just wrapped-up watching a highlight reel of the 2003 SEC Championship Game (See link below) where LSWho trounced Gawga. I realize I am going against what Coach has taught us since he arrived; Previous games have no bearing on the how this game will play out. That being said, can you envision a scienerio for Alabama like that game played out for the 2003 Saban coached LSU team? LSU had multiple sacks against David Greene. Also, another great, David Pollock, was held in check. I believe the similiarities between the teams today are astoundingly eerie. Wow.

Just at a glance, you know what stood out to me? A familiar score: 34-13.

I'm going to have to think back about this for a bit...I'll get back to the thread.

Also, I talked to Kirby after the 2008 Gawga game and he told me that he knew far ahead of time that we had the edge. He told me that Alabama knew what Georgia's players are doing on Friday nights, XBox, etc. On the other hand, Alabama's players are going through hypothetical match-up game situations with position coaches.

Its weird how games come back to mind and what sparks the memory.

Remembering our game vs LSU in 2003 was easy. Matt Mauck and Michael Clayton tore us a new one that day. Worst defeat Bama has had in a long time.

What brought the UGA game back to mind was something that happened a few months ago when they moved to having a playoff and it was brought up Saban had said he was in favor of one now, but that hadn't always been the case. Sure enough, it was following the game versus Georgia in the SECCG where that was brought up the first time.

Does that game in 2003 resemble how this game might go in 2012?

It's likely. As much as I see people wanting to believe "Gurshall" is going to create a balance on the Georgia offense I can't find reason to believe it will. And because of that, I think we'll see Georgia resort to throwing the ball—a lot.

That may make some nervous. But, like UGA did against LSU in 2003, I think Murray will mirror what David Greene was that evening. A QB that can't run, makes some good throws but in the end makes as many bad throws. He turned the ball over passing three times against UF. I can see two, at the least, against Bama.

Crazy thing about them holding Pollack in check. I think Jarvis will get his pressures, but I also have a feeling UGA's coaching staff will try to implement something to catch our offense off guard and in doing so get away from what made them have some success. Literally, Mark Richt out-coaching himself. (I look for Jarvis to try to pressure AJ up the middle instead of on the outside because they fear AJ will read the blitz and check off—he's proven he can do so.)

This game has a chance to be close. In the end, I see Bama winning by double digits.

And yes, 34-13 type of score wouldn't shock me in the least.

1. our D-line this year doesn't compare quite so well to the d-line lsu had in 2003.
2. David greeene was immobile. Murray is actually a good runner.
3. gurley is fantastic imo... but too bad his o-line has a tough time blocking decent front 7's hahaha

but i feel good about the way our front 7 stacks up against them. their offense should generally look like they did during the fla game.

my question is, does bama's offense resemble the performance in our last 2 big games? or do we come out punching people in the neck?

Murray is actually a good runner? Is AJ? He's lost less yards on sacks this year, scrambled more times, and still has more lost a lot of yards on the season...more than 3X the negative yards AJ shows.

IF he sees a big hole can he run to the sidelines? Yes. Can he scrambled and be a quarterback at the same time. Not only and I going to say no, I'm going to say Hell No! He's not a mobile QB.
