That is somewhat similar to the University of Washington's setup, but theirs isn't quite as close to the water. Nice scenery though, as it is for most of their athletic facilities.
Surprisingly, the wind isn't very strong. Think a cool breeze. I've been there multiple times (track meets in high school, weddings on the campus) and there has never been a strong wind. Any beach will have stronger winds.
