A lot of the time I'd agree with you here on guys who are announcing on signing day. However, in this situation, there's has to be a line drawn between "Brown telling the UA staff he was planning on signing with the Tide" and simply laying it at the feet of his recruitment being "word on the street." He told the staff one thing, then turned around and did something else. It happens and in some situations there's been something else going on in the background (see Ole Miss a few years ago.)Brown was a TAMU commit until around Christmas time. Goes to show what all the speculating, word on the street, crystal ball predictions, and insider info prior to signing day is worth. Often times as much as the sandwich I had for dinner.
Hope the kid is happy there. We'll win without him.
One thing that might be worth looking into (for entertainment purposes only) is what happened over the last visit with Brown. There was an A&M beat writer (one of those with a CB vote on 247) who tweeted Brown had committed to A&M again over the weekend. @uagrad93 makes mention of a beat writer tweeting the picture of Brown signing. Was it the same guy? If so, it goes to show another example of reporters being far too involved with the recruiting process. It's cost Bama another one in the past in a slightly different scenario.
