Fyi....our university in county....our town....
Won the NAIA National Championship in baseball again.... at any level...at any sport....awesome

As a kid I went whitewater rafting up in that area a few times. Beautiful place to live from what I recall.

Hiwassee river....rafting and trophy trout fishing ...mostly floating
Ocoee river....98 Olympic white water rafting and kayaking
tellico river and citico cr....trout fishing
Conasauga river....snorkeling for TnE aquatic species....
Yep....lots to do for "outside" types....quite beautiful...nice little towns around

I lived in Knoxville for two years in the 80's and traveled throughout east TN and upper east TN. Ducktown to Byrdstown to Dunlap to Mountain City. Beautiful country. The best thing was Bama's victory both years I was there, though.

When going from the casino in Murphy to the one in Cherokee you go through the National Forest and it is so pretty. I want to take my kids kayaking, so is that a solid place to challenge a eight and six year old?

Don’t really know anything about the Nantahala NF....spent my time on the Cherokee NF.....
The Hiwassee River...on the Cherokee...is used by a lot for teaching kayaking

Yeah..they won baseball NC a few years ago....its a nice little Methodist school...
Expensive as hell....Daughter graduated from there.... thank goodness for the lottery money..
