🏈 My kids' package from Coach Saban

OK, remember how I gave Coach Saban the oatmeal creme pies from my kids? Immediately he asked for their address and said he wanted to send them something. I told him not to worry and that they didn't give them to get something back. Again, he insisted.

I didn't tell the kids because I know how busy Coach Saban is and how focused he is on much more important things. I thought there is no way he is going to remember 3 kids and a box of oatmeal creme pies on the way home from Lexington.

Well, not 3 days later and a beautiful box with the Alabama A and a return address of "Alabama Football" is waiting on my door step. You should have seen their eyes! They tore into it like it was Christmas. I made sure they knew it was nothing I ordered.

Inside was an autographed hat, picture and media guide. You just don't know how excited they were (and I won't even comment about me ;) ). I mean here is a $4 million coach that took the time to say thanks to my kids for a $3 box of Little Debbies. I was really impressed (and yes, I know someone else actually boxed it, sent it, etc...) He didn't have to do any of that though.

So, for all those that say he's a jerk you try convincing my kids of that. It won't fly with them.

I'm just so glad I thought of the oatmeal creme pie idea. ;)

Good stuff Sandra...

Porter and Doe can vouch for this as well. Everytime we have been to the coaches show in T-town CNS always takes time with the kids. He always takes time with the kids and makes sure they get an autograph or photo if they want one.

Cool story. Coach posed for a picture with my kids after the A-Day game and it was an experience neither will forget. I was sitting there thinking the entire time, why didn't my parents bring me to an A-Day game cause this picture could have been me with Coach Bryant many years ago.

I remember the story Delta and that is awesoe that he took the time to do that. Sure he may come across as a jerk in the media room and on the field but it is all with a deeper intention. However, as far as children go you probably could not find someone who wants to change lives more than he does. Underneath the rough exterior, he actually is a good man, just listen to Terry (Saban that is) talk about him. Great story Delta and that is very exciting for your children...and you haha.
