🏈 Muschamp's final press conference

During his final presser with Florida beat writers and other media members, Muschamp was the most brutally honest and passionate we've seen him in quite some time. He told it like it is more often than not and rarely fell on the empty clichés that have permeated through his press conferences during the past two years.

When asked about Tevin Westbrook's dropped catch that resulted in a Florida State pick-six, Muschamp went straight to it. "You can argue about it's thrown in traffic or this, that and the other," he said. "We put you on scholarship at Florida. Catch it."

When asked about Gerald Willis' shove on Jameis Winston on the sideline, which resulted in a 15-yard penalty and Florida's coaches sending the true freshman defensive lineman to the locker room, Muschamp didn't relent. "If I was still head coach, he'd be kicked off the team. Ridiculous."

When asked about Florida's failures to move the ball down the field on its final drive, Muschamp didn't hold back, either. "Hold on now," he quipped while sporting a smile. "You're complaining about me throwing the ball. Seriously, I've been getting drilled for four years for running the ball. I say we throw it, and I get drilled for it. You guys are amazing. … We got a PI. That's what we wanted."

As you can see, Muschamp - now a man without a job - didn't have anybody or anything to defend. That doesn't mean he didn't still have sympathy for his Gators.

"We've had our opportunities," Muschamp said. "You look at two other games where we had the game in hand and had our opportunities to get it done and we didn't get it done. It falls on my shoulders, and that's why they're going to be looking for a coach. … I'm just upset about the loss. The other stuff, I've moved on. Carol and I are excited about the next step, I can assure you of that. Carol, Jackson, Whitt and I are fired up about the next step and that's what we're looking forward to. I am extremely disappointed for our football team right now."
