Had a few beers with Mr. Conyers in 2008. Very interesting man to talk to. Had a bunch of great stories in just those 2 hours. It was Mr. Conyers, a student handler, and me. Memorable night. I remember him talking about Julio Jones that night. He had just arrived on campus. Mr. Conyers said, I’ve seen a lot of receivers and ends play college ball, but I’ve never seen one as talented at Julio. Said he’s got the best hands he’d ever seen. That’s my only personal encounter with him, I know a lot of you have had more.

Eddie was a gem. We used to tease him about favoring the offense on penalties (penalties were always called on defense, never on offense). Occasionally I would challenge him on how many he would call. At the end of practice I would give him the totals for the offense (a few) and the defense (more than a few) he always had the same response, "I didn't count but I know you're wrong."
