I know there has been a lot of talk about him leaving for the draft and people have for the most part considered it a given but now with us losing in the SECCG do you think people could talk him into staying and making another championship run? I would love it

"People talk him in to staying another year?"

I'm curious, who?

I'd like to find those that try just so I can slap some sense into them.

I can't see any reason why he would. I would be foolish to be honest. Yea we "MIGHT" could win it all, or you could get paid a million bucks to play what would any of us do?

I'd take my money and run.

A million?

He's looking at 20+ million, guaranteed. The first OT taken last year was guaranteed 30MM (he was the first selection and I've seen projections that have Andre' there as well.)

Andre' is pretty much a solid lock for a top 5 pick. Number 5 last year guaranteed 22MM, 50MM dollar contract.

Add to that, from what I understand he's scheduled to graduate early as it is...

also add that next year's draft there will be a salary cap...andre and cody would both be foolish to stay...it would make me hapy but i don't have to buy their groceries

Well, TP I don't really keep up with how much a rookie tackle would make in the NFL, but some how I knew you would have the answer.

Corrected. :D

Seriously, over the last decade I've watched as many NFL games as I have episodes of Judge Judy...she used to be on the Brady Bunch, right?

I do keep a eye out on where our guys might go...and, knew that it was a OT that was taken #1 last year.

FWIW, the story to watch this year is Rashad, at least in my opinion. He's got a chance to make it on the first day. IF he does, that's just one hell of a success story.

Nobody and I mean NOBODY hopes that Rashad makes it in the first or second rounds more than me.

Question though Terry, is he big enough? I know he has GREAT football smarts, drive and heart but I have heard more than a few people mention his size. Do you think it will be a problem at the next level?

I don't think it will stop him. What do you think?

I don't know. He does seem to be about 10lbs lighter than the normal NFL safety....same height.

Some of the NFL fans here probably can answer that a whole lot better than I can.

I've seen a few mock drafts when surfing for projections that had him in the 40's in terms of picks.

the risk versus reward isn't worth it in my opinion either.

Exactly. He could get hurt next year. That's what happened to Bobby Humphrey. He got hurt so he didn't get drafted in the regular NFL draft; he went in the supplemental draft, and didn't get near as much money.

I would love to see him stay, in a selfish kind of way. But it's really in his best interests to play on Sundays next year. He can take care of his family in a major way.

Rashad could go as a nickel back. What I think is interesting to consider - and I never would have prior to this year - is the possibility that JPW could get drafted second day and might even be a bit of a steal as such. He has improved IMMENSELY this season and could mature even more. Doesn't make alot of mistakes, is VERY tough, and has some touch on the long ball. We'll see...

NFL coaches talk to college coaches about the players they coach, correct? Saban will have nothing but great things to say about Rashad. His will to work(from walk-on RB to the leader of our D), ability as a leader, his overall field smarts aswell as other attributes. Hopefully, Saban's support along with his play on the field will get him drafted somewhere.

To add to Andre here... he has had 2 very close calls with serious injuries. Ended up lucky on both, and was able to play though some pain... but he got lucky.

On Rashad, he is expected to shoot up the ranks Sr. Bowl week, but many teams are already all over him. A late first day selection would not be shocking at all. Someone who would know such things said after the LSU game he was looking at a top 45 selection if he had a solid Sr Bowl week and Combine showing, which he expected.

Two words: Matt Leinart

Why just Matt Leinart? There are a LOT of players that stayed for their senior seasons when they could have been a day 1 pick. ALL of them have said they were glad they stayed for their senior seasons. The one's that didn't receive career ending injuries during their senior seasons that is.

Fact remains that Andre will have excellent replacements ie...Tyler Love/DJ Fluker. We will miss Andre, but he will have excellent follow ups.

Andre will be of much more value to UA as a rich NFL player. Guys like that give back to the university and help with the completion of the south endzone. Just like Shuan Alexander at a game earlier this year.....How cool will it be to see Andre standing on the sideline as recruits come up and ask for his autograph as he stands beside Biscuit, Namath, Alexander, ect...
