šŸˆ More room on the roster after arrest?

Of the four, Callaway is the only one with any chance to return. There are U of A policies as well as football team policies to consider. Callaway apparently only used the strolen AC card, was not engaged in the physical violence. My guess is that the other three will get the boot as soon as the legal process runs its course, and that Callaway will be given an opportunity to work his way back by doing a series of things to regain good standing. (There was an incident several years back about some basketball players fraudulently using someone else's AC card, and I don't think they were booted.) As has been stated, no one has ever successfully worked hs way back from a CNS indefinite suspension. The fact that this is Callaway's second slip is an indication that he will not have the slef discipline to do so.

My prayer for these young men is that dealing with the consequences of their actions will shock them out of the path they have started down.

Because they could. Thugs think for the moment.......future ramifications are not even on their radar.

"It was almost like they were doing it for fun"

The coaching staff has done a good job vetting incoming athletes for potential issues over the years. My point about understanding why they did it, you can't really correct the behavior if you don't understand why it happened in the first place. So, I'm curious as to why, so that the issue can be corrected. I've read what the victim thought, but that's not the perspective I'm looking for.

I've found that as I've grown older (almost 39) that I try to understand and inquire more.

I can't help but wonder if Williams was already on his way out due to the gun related issue Sunday. Then he figured he had nothing to lose so why not go out in a blaze of glory, so to speak, and take some other guys with him in the process.

As for why people behave this way, I don't think you will ever find that answer. Some people in this world lack what most of us have going on in our brain. We think on a different level and perspective than they do. Some people are just shitty people.

Yes, there are many stupid people, and they're usually more stupid when drunk or high. I've got to there is an alcohol or drug angle to this, too, under the influence.

Oh sorry, my post was not meant as a response to your query, it was just sharing the latest info I saw.

I'm really curious as to what led them to do it as well. It makes me wonder if its happened before.

"Some people are just sh*tty people."

True statement of the year IMHO. In a culture now where you're not supposed to tell the real truth (because you might hurt someone's feelings) about how things really are, that pretty much hits the nail on the head.

And the fact is, whether everyone here actually admits to it or not, doesn't make it any less true. We've all known people like this at some point in our life. We've worked with them, maybe been related to them, went to school with them, whatever. We've all known these people at some point or another. As John Mellancamp once sang, "some people aint no damn good. You can't love 'em, you can't trust 'em, no good deed goes unpunished."

There is not a reason in the world for this to have happened other than, these people are no damn good, and they did it because they could. Bottom line.

I try my hardest to give people the benefit of the doubt. I try my hardest to always not jump to conclusions and to try and look at things through all perspectives. I'm finding this time it's pretty difficult.

Disgusting is all I have to say. Good riddance.

They're sh*t human beings plain and simple.

Two kids minding their own business were viciously attacked for no reason other than some snacks from a vending machine.

i am ashamed that these four sh*t human beings are/were students at the same great university that gave me my education.

I don't care that they were/are members of the football team, even if them being gone hurt the team, they deserve to be not only kicked off the team and out of school, but they deserve to be in jail.

Thoughts are with the students that were attacked.

At the risk of sounding like a bleeding heart liberal, I'm gonna disagree that these kids are just 'just sh**ty people' That's unfair and dismissive. We really don't know the exact details... only supposition... albeit bad about what happened. Everyone's early childhood influences are difficult to understand or appreciate and just because they excel in athletics don't make them immune from their background. It appears in this case.. The boys have had some poor raising, coupled with a privileged mentality, mob mentality and probably under the influence. They are in disbelief of their behavior right now too. Not to mention...the 'reckless abandonment... seek and destroy' mentality taught on the field is not turned off so easily for some... just ask some war vets.

I agree, don't know anything about them to comment about what type of person they are other than what they've presented for the world to see via this incident.

I have some pretty strong feelings about what I think should happen to them, but I won't share them right now. There is no question this was a stupid thing to do and they should be punished, I don't want them representing the University at all at this point.

I would hope that if the coaches have any influence left, they at least try to provide some final guidance in an effort to change the behavior, but at the end of the day, the young adults have to want the guidance.

I sure am glad I didnt sling any crap the Barns way during their off the field issues, NEVER and I mean NEVER sling mud at other schools over off field issues, it happens with every team, and the publicity right now at Bama has us all stacked up as a crazy fan base that cant keep our genitals and poisonous herbicide on the down low, now we have players taking pop shots at fellow students. Sad really.

Seems like we have a negative incident every year that gives everyone a bad perception on UA and 'Bama nation. Really wish people would actually stop being total D.A's and use their brain for once.
