Most notably, we'll never know how last Thursday's game might have played out had McCoy stayed healthy -- though he seemed to have a good feeling. McCoy's father, Bob, told ESPN the Magazine's Bruce Feldman that once it became clear late in the first half he wouldn't be able to return (he tried unsuccessfully to toss some passes in the locker room), his son lamented: "Dad, I had 'em. I had 'em. I knew everything they were doing before they did it. I was fixin' to complete every pass I was going to throw tonight.

Man, I'm sure glad old Colt didn't finish the game, he had us right where he wanted! :lance:

I'm getting real tired of hearing how we would have lost if Colt had stayed in the game (this after every national media outlet said Texas had no chance even with Colt, before the game). I lost a great deal of respect for him after reading some of his comments. This, in direct opposition to how I felt after listening to his post game interview, where he talked about his faith. He sounds pretty conceited in all other quotes.

Texas lost the game because they have a panty grabbing horrible running game and they failed to stop the run. Neither one of those things have much at all to do with McCoy.

If McCoy had been in the game, they would have thrown the ball more which means invariable they would have been picked a couple of times. where would those picks have occurred? on their end of the field? would they have gone for pick 6's?

Texas would have lost this game if Vince Young had suited up and played.

Alabama would have opened up the offense if needed in the second half or in response to a good game being played by an uninjured McCoy. I think him playing would have made it closer, but i think the 4th quarter would have looked the same. Texas would have failed.

EPIC FAIL !!!!!

BAMA WINS!!!!

part of winning football games is not getting knocked the hell out of them.

Well I don't blame Colt for being confident. We started out horribly slow and it looked like Texas would take a touchdown lead or more. But that's how football games go, especially when you have the best defense on the field. Even with Colt in the game they wren't guaranteed those points...at all.

Isn't Colt the NCAA leader with the most fumbles ever? If he had stayed in the game, no doubt he would have fumbled, too, which could have led to even more points.

Perry on 680 the Fan here in Atlanta really got me P'od this morning with all of the "IF Colt...." crap. My oldest son's middle name is Perry, after my father-in-law, but I'm seriously thinking about having it legally changed after this morning's show.:swear:

It's sad to see a player have to leave the game early. We all pity Colt for being injured.

But watching Colt go on about how long he had worked to get to the grand stage...

Did he put in longer hours than any other Texas player? Does he think he worked harder than his teammates did?

Sounds like all that Heisman attention went to his head.

Football is supposed to be a team sport, Colt.

You forgot that they were the Colt Longhorns, not the Texas Longhorns! he WAS their TEAM, not part of it.
