I just don't get it. Unless ESPN gets a shit load of ad money for his crappy shows, I have no clue how you could justify that. Maybe I'm just way off base and First and 10's ratings are out of this world, so ESPN makes gobs of money on him.
Certainly, his style of commentary – jarring, provocative, often ill-conceived takes delivered with a level of febrile conviction that almost forces you to disagree on principle – is very much in step with the network’s priorities.
I like Stephen A. I also like that he melts people so hard. There's no comparison between him, Kannell, Finebaum, Blayless and countless other ESPN (or former ESPN) hacks.
