🏈 (Mizzo) DGB Arrested......

Green-Beckham, two Missouri teammates arrested

Do you get the feeling that players like this do not sign with Alabama for a reason that we don't understand at the time?

Either they know that Saban doesn't tolerate this kind of foolishness like a lot of coaches do, or that Saban finds out that some of these high profile players already have issues so he backs off recruiting them and they end up signing with someone else.

There seems to be a long list of highly recruited athletes on Alabama's list that end up signing with someone besides Alabama that end up in trouble in the very first year they step on campus.

It's either that or the recruits we are getting walk the straight and narrow for the most part under Saban?

Maybe we are just lucky, but I doubt that is the reason...

You know, I think I remember somebody saying that one of Bama's scouts was sitting with a Georgia scout once watching Isaiah Crowell. Apparently Crowell started throwing fits when they called plays that didn't involve him getting the ball. The Bama scout turned to the Georgia scout and told him "he's all yours."

I could be a little off on that story, but I actually think I heard that on this board, but can't for the life of me remember who said it.

Either they know that Saban doesn't tolerate this kind of foolishness like a lot of coaches do and chose an easier path, or Saban finds out that some of these high profile players already have issues so he ends up backing off and they end up signing with someone else.

Maybe we are just lucky but I doubt that. I know we have had a few problems, but overall we haven't had nearly as many problem players as some of the other high profile schools have had since Saban flushed out the problem players and got his own recruits in the "process"...

Exactly, some recruits have the mentality that the world revolves around them, that "they need me more than I need them". The old "T.O" ego, they know Saban and the coaching staff (especially coach Cochran) will not tolerate with that......And players that do sign with Alabama with that attitude usually never get into trouble until after they have graduated or left for the draft. Example, Dre Kirkpatrick.

A couple weeks ago, Doe and I went down to the coaches show on a Thursday night. I ask him a question about recruiting and during his answer one of his exact statements was, "They need us more than we need them". He was talking about highly touted players coming out of high school.

If I recall this correctly, it was one of DGB's parents that made a comment that "Bama wasn't kid friendly, Saban was all business and a workaholic."

I may have DGB and another recruit confused; but I don't think so.

My first comment after hearing this news was,

This is actually a good thing for Mizzou.

They had a lingering question about DGB that has been answered.

He can take a hit.
