On Sunday, the SEC's membership officially grew by two teams with the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M. On July 1, the world changed for the entire league, but the biggest changes will be felt by the newcomers. And they won't have to wait long to feel the difference in their new neighborhood.
It may take A&M and Missouri time to adjust, but don't be surprised if they are prepared. They knew what they were in for.
But there are some things in this league, as with any move, that simply have to be experienced to be fully understood. That is especially true in football.
For example:
The singing of "Hey (Your Team here) ... " after Alabama has beaten an opponent, TigerWalk and the flying of the eagle over Jordan-Hare Stadium, Saturday night at LSU's Tiger Stadium, the ringing of cowbells at Mississippi State and the calling of the Hogs at Arkansas. There's the heat and intensity of The Swamp at Florida and the swaying of Neyland Stadium to the singing of "Rocky Top" at Tennessee.
