🏈 Mississippi State hires Mike Leach

Unlike some I think is was a very good move by MSU. He will help them recruit outside of the region.
Skill position players will be attracted due to the offense he runs.

Probably should say $2M if he wins the SEc. One, it'll never happen. Two, it would look really good on paper for the school. Three, if it did happen then the boosters would most likely be willing to donate since that would just be the best thing of their lives.

Agree 100% with you. They did what they needed to do. Find a guy that would make headlines and bring offense. Southern kids haven't seen a coach like this since Spurrier that wanted to spread the ball around like that and will definitely stay in the South to play for him.

Do not see MSU participating in CFP and maybe not Citrus but I could give them that one.
Why the Citrus? It's not a NY6 bowl and it seems if you'd give them the chance to make a NY6 bowl game you'd be forced to include the Citrus with that grouping considering is one of the "lesser" bowl games.

Just do not think highly of the Mississippi schools. History shows that to be the case. Now I know sometimes I can get stuck in the 70's and 80's when they were really bad.

Wondering when they'd get around to addressing his poor choice of tweets.

STARKVILLE, Miss.— After completing a thorough internal discussion and holding several listening sessions with appropriate student and alumni groups, Mississippi State University Director of Athletics John Cohen issued the following statement regarding a recent controversial tweet by MSU Head Football Coach Mike Leach:

“No matter the context, for many Americans the image of a noose is never appropriate and that’s particularly true in the South and in Mississippi. Mississippi State University was disappointed in the use of such an image in a tweet by Coach Mike Leach. He removed the tweet and issued a public apology. The university is confident that  Coach Leach is moving quickly and sincerely past this unintended misstep and will provide the leadership for our student athletes and excitement for our football program that our fans deserve and that our students and alumni will be proud to support.”

Cohen said that a plan is in place for Coach Leach to participate in additional listening sessions with student, alumni, and community groups and to provide the coach with opportunities to expand his cultural awareness of Mississippi. One of those opportunities will include a guided visit to the “Two Museums” – the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum – in Jackson as soon as restrictions from the current public health crisis will allow.
