Who knew that all along Mike Shula's plan was to get hired in 2003 as Bama's HC, lose to Auburn every year, subsequently get fired after losing to Auburn in 2006, get hired by the Carolina Panthers as QB coach in 2011 along with their drafting of Auburn Heisman Winner/National Champion QB, turn said Auburn QB into ROY status, get named OC of the Carolina Panthers in 2013, turn aforementioned Auburn Heisman Winner/NC QB/NFL ROY into NFL MVP in 2015-16, have the most prolific NFL Offense in 2015-16 season, reach the Super Bowl, and then score 10 points total and make the Auburn Heisman Winner/National Champion QB/NFL ROY/NFL MVP look horrible while doing so. Well done sir.

Mike Shula = Too much Bama in him.

Yeah, Don will get pissed and go on a worldwide media tour to bash Carolina.

For reals, I was always indifferent on Don Shula. Once Mike was let go, that changed. Having to hear Don get all excited every time an undefeated NFL teams loses gets old too. Every year I hope an NFL team goes undefeated so he won't have that to hang onto anymore.

Lets be really honest right now... he was a HORRIBLE OC in Tampa Bay... HORRIBLE OC in Miami... we all know awful a Tyrone Prothro-less Alabama offense looked... his offenses in Carolina were pretty bad too... then they started adding plays from Auburn's playbook and let Cam do what Cam does after the head coach pretty much said "do it or else"... sooooo how much credit do we really give him? Im just sayin...

I will say that Mike Shula probably helped him more as a passer over the last couple of years. Also, when it comes to calling plays, you have to get into a rhythm and get the right play called at the right time. Shula was able to do that in calling plays this year. They had the #1 scoring offense this season, but ran into the #1 defense last night. Shula deserves some credit, not all of it but some.

He has had a good season here, but a rare good season. I think he deserves some of the credit. Rivera is a defensive-minded coach. That has been clear from day one when he landed in Charlotte. Yeah, they drafted Benjamin last year, but other than that, they go after defensive players and focus on D. To lead the league in scoring is something no one could have imagined, especially with always-hurt Stewart in the backfield and no receivers other than Olsen. Cam had a great year, like it or not. When Brady has a year like this, with the lack of big-named weapons, he gets all the praise. But Cam and Shula choked last night. Maybe more Cam than Shula. But Shula did nothing to pick up or divert the speed rusher, nothing. And Cam had 5 carries for 46 yards in the first half. How many carries did he have the 2nd half? 1 for -1 yard... Ouch. That run was working, but he didn't scramble or try it at all the 2nd half. And Shula couldn't help Tolbert fumbling and the crazy punt return. Heck, Denver scored 10 points on a defensive TD, and a possession where they went 3 and kick field goal. Then another 8 points on a possession that started inside the 5 where they ran it 4 times. That was the game.

Anyone remember Cam in the NC game against Oregon. Sure he played a little better. But they only scored 22 points in that game where they were averaging a ton more. And for 3 whole quarters of that game they scored a total of 6 points. Big game Cam?

Shula didn't overthrow every receiver that managed (not often) to get open, he didn't wiff on pass blocking. Cam showed nerves and Denver D was the best unit on the field. Blaming Shula for Carolina poor performance is what an uneducated football fan would do.

Offense wins games, Defense wins Championships.

I havent seen one person blame it all on Shula...

IMO, biased opinion, it helps to have a QB and skill players that can make plays. This is why, IMO, he is having success in the NFL. His other stops in the NFL did not turn out so well. I do wish him the best as his journey to a head NFL coach continues.

Marginally better long con conspiracy than OJ Howard's playoff performance.
