I'm not sure I see the problem with what he wrote. All he's saying is the players should be suspended a game or two and I agree. Just because they got off on a technicality doesn't mean all should be forgiven.

They received internal punishment, which included police ride alongs for staying out late with friends in a park after hours while on vacation in their hometown. There was less than a gram of weed in the car between 4 people with no reports of them being intoxicated or under the influence. They announced they had weapons with no reports of resisting or being belligerent or evasive. The stolen weapon stands at issue, but many people have purchased stolen property unknowingly. And, they have zero prior history of issues on or off the field.

I see your argument before more facts came out, but I'm not sure why the continued demand for more punishment to include missed games at this point.

It may have been a "technicality", they may have been lucky, and they certainly put themselves in a bad situation through poor decisions. However, I have no heartburn with punishment as it stands (nor would i if they were at any other school). Notwithstanding potential additional punishment, all will not be forgotten and CNS will certainly have them on a shorter leash in the future with a sharp hand should they step out of line.

I don't think this douche bag will last long. As @Che Boludo stated, they are going through a stringent internal punishment even though they "got off on a technicality". I would have an issue if Saban did "nothing at all" once the DA announced his decision. I think it is pretty demoralizing to go on these ride alongs, weekly piss tests, meeting with a abuse counselor twice a week, meeting with TPD about guns and safety twice a week, when all of your buddies are lounging out by the pools, watching all of the bikini clad coeds, grilling out, etc. Adding a game or two does nothing more than to make all of the media gripe as to why another game wasn't added, make our opponents cream themselves, and hurt our team.

That's a matter of public record. The problem with what he's written, in this tweet, is he didn't bother to read or research his article before he posted his opinion.

Why?
