🏈 Mid-afternoon kickoff time, TV set for Alabama's season opener against West Virginia

Alabama will be under the Georgia Dome lights when it kicks off the 2014 season against West Virginia, but it will be hours away from sunset. The Crimson Tide's showdown with the Mountaineers in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. (central), West Virginia announced Saturday. The game will air on ABC.

This is the only game on Alabama's 2014 schedule with a set kickoff time.

By comparison, last year's Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game against Virginia Tech kicked off at 4:30 p.m. This will be the fourth time Alabama has played in the Atlanta-based Kickoff Game since Nick Saban took over in 2007.

Counting the opener against the Hokies, Alabama had five mid-afternoon kickoffs in 2013. It started once in the morning and played the rest in primetime.

I prefer the primetime games. Just has a bigger feel to me and in that case I can spend all day watching the other games and smoking some ribs or something for he primetime game.

I prefer the night games as well at neutral sites. We'll roll out from this one and it might still be daylight. I'm less than 30 miles from the GA Dome, so for once I don't have a late night, marathon, soul stealing drive back home.

Tim
