šŸˆ Michigan Football: Elite or Overrated?

Wonder how Michigan fans view Bama?
While it doesn't describe each and every one of them, the majority of those I've ran into that liked to "bark" always fall back to the stereotypical northern view: poor and uneducated followed by "football is the only thing in our lives."

(I do LOVE playing golf with the snowbirds!!! There isn't an easier group of people to "get into their heads" on a golf course. I played with one a few weeks ago and mentioned to him on the second hole, "the hitch in the top of your swing is amazing! It would affect my timing." There was no hitch. Although, he looked for it all day.)

Lol...if you dont base it on data..... what would you base it on...perception is data based i would think.....
I don’t necessarily agree or disagree......but being rational...data would give you the answer

I say perception was that they were better than the data showed.

I grew up when they had some good teams but I did not realize how shallow that was based on the articles data that measured NC's, 10 win seasons etc.... That was my only point.

Michigan has had some very good teams but they struggle when it comes to winning the national championship. I do believe they are one of the major players when talking about all time college teams but I cannot give them an elite status.

But hard not to when they have the all time most wins.... that can only be accomplished by have a quality program over a long time...
I am no Michigan fan...but I salute their achievement....
Claim ( as bama does) 11 National titles ,....but been awhile..and 4 were at turn of century...the 1900s....lol
Have 3 Heisman winners
And have 1 POTUS

Back in the 60-80 ! I would put them in the elite. But now Until this coach can man handle the tOS team, I don't think so!

But big ten didn’t do bowls except for rose bowl for years. If I remember correctly

Of course, over the years, up until 40(?) years ago, there weren't that many Bowls available. It was in the mid-70's when the Bowl Lineup began to expand. So, Bama did have the advantage of participating in more Bowls than did UM. And, of course now, you have to be really unsuccessful not to be invited to a Bowl Game. You still have to win them, though.

ROLL TIDE!
