| MBB/WBB Miami and basketball coach Jim Larranaga are in talks about him stepping down immediately

There’s little doubt in my mind that the Saban Decision™ has had a ripple effect on the coaching community, across sports.

If he can step away, cold turkey, for these same reasons and be this happy on the other side of it, why can’t shouldn’t I?
And the next step may be the fans asking themselves the same thing. Then the sport will change again

Yep. There's very few things in my life I can't live without... and while much of my life and time is tied to Bama football (really several Bama sports), if the time ever comes that I feel the need to sever the ties, I'll make it along just fine. Though, I'd much rather see it just eat itself and dissolve into flames and dust rather than me walk away. At least that way, the people that chased the greed without heeding the warnings would be served at least some dose of comeuppance, giving me some degree of satisfaction.

I don't blame him or any coach that does it because of NIL. I hate the fact that you have to re-recruit your own guys - despite successful runs in the tournament - because hey, tampering is so widely used by other programs and they throw ludicrous amounts of money around for players. I mean we lost a starting PG in Quinerly extremely late into the offseason because Memphis decided to throw him more money. We came off a Final Four last season and lost Rylan Griffen because Kansas offered more.
