🏀 Men's Basketball Earns No. 9 Seed, Will Face Florida in SEC Tournament

The Alabama men's basketball team will be the No. 9 seed in the 2015 SEC Tournament and will play No. 8 seed Florida on Thursday afternoon at noon CT (1 p.m. ET) on SEC Network.

The Tide (18-13) and Gators (15-16) closed the year in a tie for eighth in the overall standings, with both teams finishing with identical 8-10 records in conference play. However, Florida earns the eight seed as a result of its 52-50 victory over Alabama on Jan. 27 in Coleman Coliseum in the lone meeting between the two teams.

The Gators won the game over the Tide when Dorian Finney-Smith converted a dunk with 21 seconds remaining - his lone field goal on the night. Senior guard Levi Randolph's potential game-tying shot was blocked and time ran out as Alabama fought to regain possession.

The winner of the Tide and Gators will advance to face No. 1 seed Kentucky on Friday at noon CT (1 p.m. ET).

This year's tournament will be held March 11-15 in Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
