CBS announced last week that they were going to extend their coverage on the main network with two extra games. TNT actually did the same thing a week before that. Their ratings are def. appealing to networks. Manziel returning to San Antonio (who passed on signing him by the way) is def. going to make for a big week ratings wise, even if he doesn't play.

After he waits out to see if he’s picked up , would AJ even consider joining this league ? I don’t think it would be a bad idea for him , just to try and get some kind of film of him leading a team for multiple games out there other than his BAMA stuff ?

I think if he waits to long the chance may be gone for him . With the next couple of draft classes coming in , added to the very small amount of teams looking for “A” guy . Chances to play QB in the NFL are hard to find .

With Johnny coming in it would be a natural rivalry .

Or would he feel it’s beneath him ?

He's going to get picked up and probably make around a million a year to be a backup...

If I were AJ or anyone else in the NFL for that matter I'd have to think long and hard about the pros/cons of the AAF as an alternative to being a backup in the NFL.

I just don't see the AAF as a path forward into the NFL at this point, not sure if ever will be. Maybe I'm wrong.

Making any NFL team as a backup pays way more than any position on an AAF squad. NFL one year contract minimum is $480K. AAF 3 year total is $250K (basically $83K a year). Hell, NFL practice squad makes $129K a year if you practice all year. I expect he would take an AAF position were there no NFL ones at all available to him but why step down that far if you don't have to?

Why....he has money....now we...me....says a million is a lot...may not be to others...but to me...it is....i didnt make a million any year I worked....
So he has money inhis pocket...may be like Trent...just wants to play football...

After half of the AAF's rosters end up on NFL rosters next year there won't be any question...

A lot of the AAF issues with play are due to the short pre-season practice time. The league wide training camp was January 4th and the first games were February 9th. These teams are playing under these rules for the first time ever and only had 30 days to get everything together. If the league can survive this season I expect a better bunch of play next year.

This. The offensive side is already getting better and by the end of the season I think we'll be seeing most teams hitting their stride. Even Atlanta is getting better.
