The thing that irritates me about these polls or picks or whatever you want to call them, is ranking teams based on where they think the team finishes the season based off of their schedule instead of basing a vote on how good you think that team is at this moment. Drives me bonkers.

Like I said in the other post about AP rankings, the guy who voted Ohio State #1 ranked Michigan #1 last year.

I can see where the guy casting his #1 vote for Ohio State is coming from. They do have a "cake walk" for a schedule and they should go undefeated. As for the guy casting his lot for UGA, he is grasping. Yes, UGA is loaded on offense BUT, they lose a ton of talent on defense much like LSU. UGA also gets to open the first month of the season with Clemson, South Carolina and I believe LSU. I don't put much stock in the fact that "they are motivated" from the results of being so close last year!

The guy who voted Georgia #1 was on Finebaum yesterday trying to explain himself, and did a pour job doing so. His reasoning was pretty much "they almost beat Alabama last year."

I'd rather everyone vote us 4th or 5th honestly. 1st place in preseason polls is not a good place to be in my opinion. I'd rather be lower and be able to shuffle upwards than to be stuck at first with only one way to go, down.

I personally don't care where they rank us. Finishing number 1 is all I care about. If we compete in every game and give our all, I am usually satisfied, but a three-peat would be most excellent.
