🏈 McElwain Interested in OC Job at Texas?

My Longhorn buddy tells me its much more Texas floating names at this point than Coach Mc shopping. The rank and file 'horns have disliked Davis for a long time.

Mc might get a few more dollars out of the deal, but I've heard that Mack is a control freak.

One of the things Saban has said a million times. "I don't want my coaches making lateral moves". If that aint lateral i dont know what is. It also says Texas is considering him, not that hes considering Texas.

Two very valid points, and I think Saban tries to instill that mindset in his coaches, to not make lateral moves, but take the job if its moving up. (And I think Alabama will be willing to up someone's pay to keep them from making a lateral move)

High-profile job at one of the top flight programs (not saying Bama isn't) and Texas has loads of money to spare. The important piece in all of this? He wouldn't have to survive the SEC schedule to make it to postseason play relatively unscathed. Oklahoma, Missouri and Oklahoma State are the other big players in the Big XII. In the SEC, Bama has to fight through Auburn, LSU and Arkansas to make it to Atlanta to have to fight through Tennessee, Florida, Georgia or South Carolina. Yes, it is a lateral move from a position standpoint but Texas will front a TON of money if they think they found the right guy. I'm not saying he SHOULD take the Texas job, but I'd understand it.

If he stays,he stays. If he goes, more power to him. We can find another.

Everyone knows it is not secret Saban is hard to work for...So I think we need a hard nose no nonsense coach just like him...someone go down to southern georgia and tell Rusch Propst his services are needed in Alabama once again
