šŸˆ Max Kellerman Claims SEC Football Fans Are Dumb, Says They’re ā€˜Almost Immune To Facts’

ESPN’s Max Kellerman had a scorching hot take about SEC football fans, and people won’t like it.

Kellerman said the following during his Thursday episode of ā€œFirst Takeā€ when talking about college football and the coronavirus pandemic, according to Outkick:

You made the argument a couple weeks ago, you thought if SEC football wasn’t played that could swing the general election because people in Trump’s base would be very upset that they didn’t have football, which is practically a religion down there. I disagreed because he would simply shift blame because the pandemic is raging. They seem to be susceptible to very low quality information and easy to propagandize and almost immune to facts.

What the hell did we all just watch? I understand that it might be hard for Max Kellerman to understand from his ivory tower and big salary, but people in SEC country aren’t stupid.

I know a ton of people from that region. They’re good people. In fact, short of the people from where I grew up in Wisconsin, I’d argue the nicest people I’ve ever met are from the south.

They’re incredibly intelligent, good family people, well educated, have great jobs and they love football in the fall.

In the eyes of Max Kellerman, that makes you ā€œsusceptible to very low quality information and easy to propagandize and almost immune to facts.ā€

What an absolutely pathetic and disgraceful thing to say.

Max Kellerman should try to broaden his horizons a bit. He might find that he actually likes people from the south. Turns out, they’re pretty damn smart! They just love their football. If that’s a crime, then lock me up.

OK, glass house. What's hilarious is that, verbatim, exactly what he said about southerners could easily be said about himself. What's not so funny is that coastal elites think this way about anyone and everyone that doesn't agree with them. What's even less funny is that those same coastal elites carry tremendous influence when it comes to policy in this country.

Skip Bayless or Max Kellerman?

Max, and his takes, aren't near as bad as Skip's. Skip isn't near as critical as Max. In fact, I'd dare say Max criticizes 90% of the things he discusses.

It's been my experience in life when someone is consistently critical of things around them they live a horrible existence; a despondent and disconsolate soul.

Can't say that I watch much Skip Bayless. But I agree about Max - about 90% critical. And with all that negative energy - along with Stephen A constantly on him - he must be a fairly miserable man.

Don't have a dog in this fight, I don't give 2 shits about Kellerman, ESPN, or "SEC fans". But, I would find it humorous if Greg Sankey publicly demanded an apology from Kellerman for alienating a big portion of ESPN's audience by calling them "dumb". Who draws more eyes and money to ESPN? Kellerman or every SEC football games every Saturday plus all the other SEC coverage for the other sports on their family of networks?

I don't think that's necessary or needed by any means, it would just be funny.

Quite the ironic post given the people and responses in this thread. Don't forget the overtly racist ones.

Many of my good friends are southerners, though I currently don't reside in the South. The ones I know aren't the hyper-sensitive snowflakes present in this thread, though.

Where did you grow up, attend school?

I find it ironic you mention "racist" in a comment about a "xenophobic" comment. Ya know? It's my opinion no matter where you live, how you grew up, when someone starts insulting your intelligence? Think about that for a second.
