šŸˆ Matthews booted by UGA; eyes Auburn, L'ville

i love his tweet.....

I'm sorry UGA family.I swear to God I love yal.I'm crying right now but I won't forget. Love the dawgs.Auburn or Louisville will be my home

lol, if he really loved uga, he would definitely would NOT go to auburn.

i'd also like to add this.....

i think that if you are dismissed from an SEC sports team for breaking the law, not just violating team rules but actually breaking a law, where you are found guilty and have been given a sentence by the courts, then you should not be allowed to enroll at another school in the SEC to join any of the sports teams there.

they should allow you to transfer if you wish. but you should not be allowed to engage in any sports activities while enrolled there or at any other SEC school.

i think this would send a strong message that breaking the law and getting caught can have a very large impact on your playing career; especially if you are a multi-year starter and are projected to one day play in the pros.

Well, that tweet is all but an admission of guilt about something pretty bad, bad enough for Richt to dismiss him.

On a related note, Sumlin dismissed LB Claiborne and a starting DT (sorry, don't remember his name) from tamu yesterday as well.

Supposedly there will be more dismissals on Thursday after the others go to court for trying to double cash their stipend checks. Georgia fans can't handle it and I'm going round and round with them on AJC blogs about it. They try and turn the argument on us, but can't back it up with anything other than something a four year old would say.

Richt could easily not allow him to go to another SEC school...but

Waste of time and energy. Stupid people find a way of dragging you down to their level and beating you with experience...

Perhaps the potential infractions and departures are unrelated to this, but I heard two weeks ago that there would have to be significant D turnover at UGA in order to get team intelligence up to a level to execute the DC's scheme.

Children's lit? If he winds up at the barn, he'll be a shining scholar in their sociology program.

A classroom disruption that Tray Matthews admits to causing forced coach Mark Richt’s decision to dismiss the sophomore safety from the UGA football program, Matthews said Wednesday.
The story circulating by Wednesday afternoon on social media about a verbal altercation between Matthews and a professor further fueled the notion that the sophomore from Newnan had discipline problems while at Georgia.
It comes on the heels of an arrest on theft by deception charges in March.
In an exclusive interview Wednesday evening with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Matthews admitted to having a loud and distracting conversation with a fellow UGA athlete on the final day of Maymester classes Tuesday, but vehemently denied having disrespected Dr. Ronald Bogue, the professor of his Children’s Literature course. Matthews says he was asked to leave the class of around 30 students but did not.
ā€œWe were just going back and forth on something and then the teacher just basically said, ā€˜Y’all be quiet, y’all are always talking.’ And that’s the only thing that happened,ā€ Matthews said. ā€œAnd the teacher was just, ā€˜Get out,’ and I was like, ā€˜Sorry, he just keeps talking to me. I wasn’t disrespectful to the teacher at all.ā€
Matthews also disputed a charge made by a fellow classmate in the 3000-level course that he told her to shut up and directed obscenities at her. Dr. Bogue, who will retire from UGA after submitting Maymester grades, could not be immediately reached for comment.
The incident in one of the Miller Learning Center’s many classrooms preceded Richt’s decision to let Matthews go by just a few hours. The disruption occurred toward the end of the nearly three-hour class around 1:45 p.m., and Matthews announced his dismissal on Twitter just minutes short of 5:30 p.m. Matthews blamed the disruption for his dismissal, but said he thought the arrest also played a part in the decision.
ā€œThat’s basically the reason why I got kicked off though,ā€ Matthews said of the classroom incident. ā€œThat’s what [coach Mark Richt] told me basically. … Yeah, I think it’s kind of some of the arrest stuff, too, though. But I was basically, I was leaving anyways, I just hadn’t put that in the media.ā€
Matthews, who finished his first year at Georgia with 23 tackles and one interception, has since left Athens and is back in Newnan weighing his options. He says he has discussed his situation with former teammates Shaq Wiggins and Josh Harvey-Clemons, now both at Louisville, but will consider several schools for his next stop.

Why wouldn't Richt suspend this guy indefinitely? Wouldn't that make it more difficult for someone like him just to summarily brush himself off and declare he wanted to go to the Barn or Louisville? I would have kept his sorry ass in limbo and not given him a release so easily.
