Hard to tell his motivation but that seems ridiculous to me. We have 5 years worth of incredible talent amassed from 5 #1 recruiting classes. We have a quality coaching and training staff coaching up this quality talent. I would take a bet against Mr. Hayes if he would be willing. I'd make it a substantial bet at that.
Baylor, Auburn, ArkAnsas, and Georgia ahead of us??? This dude is apparently a big idiot if he seems to think we can't fill holes easier than all of those teams. I agree Ohio State and TCU are gonna be very good, but we're going to be right there. I like it from the standpoint of this team having to earn the better ranking and respect. Gives them a goal instead of having their ego stroked for something they have yet to accomplish.
Telling his motivation seems ridiculous? I gave up on trying to figure him out a long time agoāfar too many inconsistencies in what he puts out. They're EASY to point to...
As example, last year he had OU in the #1 spot in his early top ten. Now, that makes a little sense considering how they finished the season. Hayes pointed to that several times.
However, what's good for 2014 doesn't fit with 2015. IF you're going to show a lot of love for a team like OU based on how they finish, why doesn't the same apply to Auburn (as one example.) It seems pundits are forgetting they lost their last four FBS games and finished at .500 against FBS teams in 2014.
Meh...it's not like we've seen conventional thinking out of the Sporting News group in the past...why try to find it now? Or, why even expect such?
Arky has the best o-line AND D-line in the league? Muschamp is the smartest defensive mind in the country? I think this guy is just trying to get internet traffic so he can make more money.
