šŸˆ Match up of Badger going against Bama DL Line

I decided to look up few things and I didn't know most of the Badgers OL are over 6"6 and their weight is impressive. I wondered how well they fare against our DL... check the info below: That would explain why Badgers coach spent lot of time talking with Arkansas...because of their OL line. What do you think ?

Wisconsin Badgers OL 0
TE: Austin Traylor (242lbs) 6"4
LT: Tyler Marz (318lbs) 6"7
LG: Michael Deiter (3l6lbs)6'6
C: Dan Voltz (311lbs) <- 6'3
RG: Walker Williams (320lbs) <-6"7
RT: Hayden Biegel (297lbs) <- 6"7

Going against Alabama DL

DE: A'Shawn Robinson (320lbs)
NG: Darren Lake (323lbs)
DE: Jarran Reed (315lbs)
OLB: Dillon Lee (243lbs)
MLB: Reggie Ragland (256lbs)
MLB: Reuben Foster (244lbs)
OLB: Denzel Devall (254lbs)

If I'm not mistaken, didn't I hear A. Robinson was down around 280-290 now, and Reed down to around 300 even?

I see that our 2015 roster on 247Sports has those weights above listed, but I thought most of our starting D-line had dropped weight and leaned up this off-season. They sure look leaner in camp pictures I've seen.

I think this will be a great early litmus test to see if all the hype coming out of camp about how "great" our defense is was true. Because Wisconsin has a tradition for very good run blocking offensive lines. If we dominate them then other teams need to be afraid, very afraid.

I got the weight off the Alabama website.. it showed updated veresion ...so ... I'll double check.

To get a picture of what Wisconsin's OL is like, think about what Arkansas' OL was like a year ago. Very big, physical. Yet they did not have much success at all running the ball against our front seven. That game stayed close all the way because the Arky defense played well and our offense did not.

Completely agree. Not to bring up bad memories but it reminds me of the Sugar Bowl against Utah. Our big Oline was supposed to dominate them but they countered our size with their quickness. Paul Kruger became a household name that night....unfortunately.

Shwew, some big ole brutes up front. Before you know it, 6'6 will need to be the new quarterback height, as 6'4 may have trouble seeing over that kind of size.

I am really interested to see our line. Everyone around the country has us with the best defensive line in the country, so I'm very excited to see strengf vs. strengf. Few more days boys and girls.

Interestingly enough on the other side of the coin their 2 deep on the DL only lists one guy (2nd position) over 300 and several are listed in the 260-270 range. Their LB'ers are all listed less than 250 with a couple in the 225 range.

As I said in another thread I believe against the Bama offensive line they will be forced to run blitz and attempt to shoot gaps. If those small guys let the o-line get a couple of good ole bucket steps on them some holes are going to open up.
