No one else is reporting this, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. I don't see how all this smoke could equal just a one-game suspension, but if it's true I feel great about Dareus.:smile:

Sounds like a wild reach on his part. The only mention I found of a one game suspension was from this blog http://www.boltsfromtheblue.com/2010/8/12/1619810/chargers-rookie-dt-cam-thomas

and the writer was just speculating on what might happen if Austin were found to have violated the rules.

WHO assigned the rumored suspension, and WHY?

If it is the NCAA assigning it as punishment for offenses committed, then it would imply that the entire investigation is over and that is all that will come of it. And, if the NCAA is finished with Austin, then should they not at least be very close to finalizing Marcel's fate? Honestly, this sounds too efficent for the NCAA

If it is North Carolina assigning the suspension, then it is only news in the states of North Carolina and Louisiana. The NCAA would still be the final architect of what will be. (Of course NC's week two team is not happy at this point.)

I'm thinking this whole rumor may have been wishful thinking on Butch Davis' part. No one else has even whispered anything similar to what Chuck Oliver was stating yesterday.

With the stuff that is coming out about him and John Blake and a former player paying for a trip out to CA, I doubt very seriously his will be a one game suspension. Probably just wishful thinking.
