Former Shula commitment, Saban "shoo, be gone", and U. of Miami QB Robert Marve now has Miami's blessing to transfer to an SEC school. Previously the ACC and SEC were off-limits as a condition of his release.

Florida, Tennessee, or LSU are listed as "Non-Options" according to the set terms.

To that I say, "Jimmy Crack Corn..."

***EDIT*** Needed Coffee and Hooked on Phonics to get the conditions right. Second time's the charm.

Marve is still prohibited from transferring to schools in the Atlantic Coast Conference and within the state of Florida. But those three SEC schools remain off-limits, Miami officials said, because of the belief that discussions about Marve transferring to one of those institutions has been going on for some time.

"The University of Miami has reason to believe that the Marve family or others on behalf of the Marve family contacted those institutions during the 2008 season regarding Robert's potential transfer prior to him having been given his release by UM," the university said in a statement released Friday night. "We are not suggesting any wrongdoing on the part of any of the universities mentioned."

I don't doubt that, at all.

He sure didn't do himself any favors, or those around him didn't, when word got out he was looking at SEC schools long before he was released.

Wonder if Steve Spurrier would take a chance on him?

Hell, I'm wondering if Spurrier would take a chance on me.

He's got 4 QB's on scholarship for the 2009 season, three of them underclassmen. He has been looking at other QB's though. I know he's been in contact with Clint Moseley in the last month.

Concur with the

How many QB's did Bear have on his team? At this point Marve does not have a world of good options. Spurrier could invite him in, give him a shot at QB, and then either cut him loose or move him to some other position. Marve would be a Junior before the could even take the field, so he surely would not bolt USC. The kid is over a barrel. Heck, the kid comes from money so Spurrier could even tell him to walk-on and earn his scholarship by beating out the other 4. In this manner USC does not even have to burn a scholarship. Marve might bite.

I'm hoping he would give MSU a shot. He might be more of a Pro-style QB, but they could use one that throws a decent ball.

I also hope Mosely gives South Carolina a good look. Don't really want him at Auburn, he could turn out to be a great QB.

I am a Miami fan... trust me, WE DO NOT WANT THIS KID! I HOPE he goes to another SEC team, just helps us out.

Whats the skinny on this guy? Is he a trouble maker, or what?

I didnt see him play at all this year, which means i didnt watch any Miami football since he started most of the time.
