If he made it for himself, no payment is required. Whoever made the Alabama sticker paid a royalty.

Again, that is made for himself, it is not something he is reselling. They might be ticky about it and say he had it made for himself, rather than crafted by his own hands and then paid for that service. I doubt they would go after a former player for something like this. Now if they mass produced it for sale, then they would have to license it.
