R.I.P. to his brother, its honestly a miracle Marcell was able to get out. Thank god for talent.

Terrible, simply terrible. I also had heard of the murders and had no idea one of them was Marcell's. My thoughts go out to his family.

It is being reported this happened over a $40 drug debt. Not to be for drugs or anything but FORTY FREAKING dollar!!! Kids scare the hell out of me these days.

Anyone else who live local also will recognize the Chandalar neighborhood. It's a nice older subdivision and I've been thru there all my life. It was the same neighborhood of the quadruple murders of the two boys and two other accomplices. I bought my truck from one of the kids dad, Dale Ellison, back when he and I worked at Susan Schein Chevy in Pelham. I was a teenage back then but the murders happened in 1997. I have a friend who I think knows a little about the situation based on what he has eluded to. Knowing this guy and his past habits I feel no reason to doubt him. Basically he said:

"i know a little in depth info on the whole thing, and while there was an
incident involving the loaning and non payment of $40 worth of drugs, this
offender was on a good bit of drugs and showed up to shoot dareus's brother..
the other 2 kids were in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Happened about a mile from where I live. Except for the small factor of two multiple homicides in 13 years you'd think it was a very nice area to live in. One of the local ministries had been trying to work with the brother, but obviously couldn't keep him away from bad folks. Sad.

Yea it's a nice older neighborhood. I used to date a girl there way back in my HS days. It's just kind of creepy that of there to be murders in a neighborhood that both were multiple homicides. I used to drive by the other house were the family was slain and it always gave me the creeps. Nobody moved in that house for years but now someone does. I just don't think I could buy a home where something so tragic happened inside.

I have several church friends who live in Chandalar. If you knew them you would never expect anything remotely like that would happen where they live. Of course it is a large subdivision.
