🏈 Manziel Going Pro

I guess the person that pops in my head is Roger Staubach at Navy. They were better than average (5-4, 9-2, 7-3, etc...) before he showed and he didn't play until I think week 3 of his 1st season. Then he wins the Heisman and takes them to the national championship game his 2nd season. Pretty good 2 years. Johnny took a 7-6 team to 9-4 (with an 11-2) in the middle, which is still amazing considering the conference swap.

The thought, or question, crosses my mind with Manziel.

Can you guys think of a player that's elevated a school more than he's done for A&M in two short years?

Sure, a guy like Tebow had his impact but Florida was already winning. I'm pressed to think of a guy who has done more for a school than JM.

Interesting thought Terry. On the flip side, we may not know what an impact JM made compared to TT until next season. Florida was good previous to TT arriving but after he left, they have never been the same (thanks to the departure of TT and Urban in the same year....maybe?) I really think the kid backing up JM was supposed to be loaded with potential and of course Sumlin didn't pack his bags like Urban because his star QB left. In that respect, aTm may be in better shape even after the departure of JM compared to when TT left UF.
