🧑‍🤝‍🧑 / 🏡 Madre de Dios it’s cold this morning

I remember when we had a weird snap several years ago. And by several, I'm talking about '07-'09? I played golf on Monday, woke up to 4-5" in areas on Weds., and was back out Friday (it was wet, cart path only.)

The rest of this year? 65/45 every day give or take a degree.
65 to 45 ain't bad at all. I don't mind cool or even cold if it will just stay there a while so you get used to it somewhat but that 80 and 60 today 50 and 25 tomorrow now that I don't like at all.
Keys are pretty much 75 and 68 the whole winter.

This is another day to laugh at the tourist.

I ran out to pick up some fish and stuff and ran into a group of six or so...eating shrimp, drinking, etc. "21 isn't going to be that chilly." ( Boston blue blood accent holding his pinkie out on his tall boy.)

I told him to wear what he's got on at 5 today...you won't come back when it's cold.

People don't get how much water is in the air all the time. Wet, cold wind...bite my ass if he ain't cold.

(Baked, fresh snapper for lunch today...eheheh.)

Lunch sounds good, I'm ready to go catch some but first of this week is going to be a bit windy for the kayak.

Wet cold is much different for sure. You can tell the folks who have been here a while when the fronts do come through. locals and the people who winter here will be in jackets if it's under 65 and the folks who just got here are in the shirts and shorts.

70 for the low here... I hate alabama winters because the weather is so inconsistent.
Where you at? The high here is 40 and it is now heading downward. Sometime around 5pm. It will start going down until around 11am Monday. I live in Randolph County. It between Anniston and that cow town.

One of those "why didn't I try that before."

It was fresh, already cleaned and filleted. So, easy peasy.

8x10 baking tray lined with parchment. Buttered.
Soaked in lemon juice for a couple of hours...flipped them about every 30.
Patted dry.
Buttered one side, garlic salt and pepper.
Buttered the other side, garlic salt, pepper, paprika, and some chives ...
...and I added about three teaspoons of Pico per filet about 12-13 minutes in on a 20 minute bake time at 350.

Threw together a macaroni salad with a Vidalia onion dressing (celery, carrots, onions, bell peppers, cubed cheese, and the like.) And some sweet snap beans.

That shit was good.

I looked at my phone around 3 or so. It was 23. The wind was around 20 mph. Morning weather guy at 4 said it was going to drop another two or three degrees with the wind remaining steady. 11'ish, feel like temp. `

If only you'd left out that damn pasta... it doesn't take much to make good ingredients good food. I like simple when it comes to fresh fish.

It was a nice contrast in taste and temperature. I'd put it together for another meal and it fit as a side (while using what I had left over.)

I've been on both a pasta and fish/seafood binge lately. Hell, I've been thinking about breading some whiting and having fish sandwiches with onion rings tonight. BUT, I also picked up some salmon the other day along with some crab cakes.

ALL KINDS of meat in the house and that's all I'm thinking about: fish, shellfish, and what I can do.

Got a couple trips scheduled before grouper season goes out, hoping to catch one. I want to try a take on a thai grouper head soup. Grouper head but I'd use the rack as well.
When the wind lays enough for snapper I'm ready for ceviche. Would really like to catch some fresh tuna but it's hit and miss down here so planning that trip for next fall in south Louisiana.
I like fish, I love shrimp and oysters.

I haven't had that. Sounds good. Love Thai food! I'd guess the closest thing I've had would be a Tom Yam. I really liked the different flavors there: a spicy bite, then a sour one, followed by a salty spicy...

Yeah it is really similar from the way the guy describes it. I love Thai as well, just don't order Thai hot in Guam.
