Outside of projected No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence, no quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft is receiving more traction this month than Alabama's Mac Jones, a first-team All-American who turned heads in front of scouts at the Senior Bowl in January. Jones, who was projected as a mid first-rounder after winning the national championship last season, has since moved into the Top 10 and ahead of Ohio State's Justin Fields.

Former NFL front office executive Mike Tannenbaum said he's hearing Jones will go early and there's two teams specifically who have honed in on his talents.

Mac Jones, University of Alabama, his floor is No. 8 to the Carolina Panthers,” Tannenbaum said Monday. “Go back to the Senior Bowl, Matt Rhule loved him. It’s no secret they’re losing for a quarterback. Mac Jones’ floor in this year’s draft is No. 8. There’s a lot of speculation about New England. Bill Belichick, Nick Saban having conversations, if that goes well, New England is going to have to go above No. 8 to go get Mac Jones.”

If Belichick drafts up to grab Mac, then Mac gets to play with Damien Harris; on the other hand, if he goes to Carolina, he stays...somewhat local and generates a new fanbase, similar to what $cam did there. He'll also get McCaffery in his backfield.

JMO but you have to evaluations of Mac

A-Sark was without a doubt the best OC ever in college football. He devised playswhere Mac always had one receiver that was going to be open on each pattern and all he had to do was just throw it as designed by Sark. No decision making process really needed against those 13 teams. #10 is just a production of the impressive OC along with all world receivers and OL. NO WAY could Jones actually be that good of a college QB. It would take Mac a complete day to run hundred yard dash and no way could he move around in the pocket to give him more time to make throws.

B-Mac is one impressive decision maker and he makes them pretty quick. He has the arm to make most throws and he is accurate. He has the agility to give himself a little more time in the pocket but he will not win in 40 yard dash race but maybe against Tom Brady. Mac is either Fool's Gold or he is close to the Real Deal. It will be good to see which team buys his stock as well as to see how his career progresses. Regardless #10 is Alabama Football Lore forever and he has 2 NC's rings.

Not really sure those two cover it...

My opinion is that Mac has a great arm and great accuracy. Two things that are no doubt needed in the NFL. What is in question is how quickly and accurately does he read the Defense. He had one great Oline in front of him last year and really never got put under too much pressure. That won't likely be the case in the NFL... so the question becomes how quickly and correctly does he see the coverage and find the receiver. Regardless, his arm and accuracy alone is worth a 1st round pick alone... if they feel he has or can be taught the rest, then he'll be a top 10 pick for sure.

These teams also put out narratives to hide their interest. Could be some of that in category A.
