If Mac Jones has 25 or more pass attempts against Mississippi State he will become eligible for the NCAA record book for career passer rating. QBs need 325 career attempts and he’s at 300. He will likely enter the list at #2 all time with a rating a little over 190.

Only one player ever has had a career QB rating over 185 - Tua. He’s at 199.4.

So after this weekend there’s a good chance Bama will have had the two most efficient QBs in the history of college football.

That is honestly shocking with the long run of QB's that we had. Good ones but not great like we have seen in back to back years.

Not really if you think at how the game and style has progressed so much over the years. Back in the day, QBs averaged only 12-15 attempts per game. If you had those up in the 20-25 attempt range, usually meant your team was losing and constantly playing from behind. Now, the rules are geared for a more offensive game and the passing game is so much more advanced.

I was referring more to the #1 and #2 best career QBR of all time is from bama and the last 3 years. Understand the different style of play. Maybe you are saying QBR's were as good or better in years past but due to the style of play they would not get enough attempts to qualify.

A combination of both. QBR hasn’t been a round too long I believe.
