LSU's Lealaimatafao, Godchaux cited in bike theft
Two LSU freshmen defensive linemen were issued misdemeanor citations last week by campus police for separate July incidents, nola.com reported Monday.
Per an LSU police official, Trey Lealaimatafao was cited last Thursday on a bicycle theft charge, and Davon Godchaux the previous Wednesday on a charge of criminal mischief. Both players were released immediately following the citations.
LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette told nola.com the program and Les Miles were aware of the incidents, but had no further comment at present.
According to the report, police recognized Lealaimatafao on surveillance video that showed him taking a bicycle from an LSU library's bike rack. He admitted Thursday to taking the bike and per nola.com told investigators "he thought it was permissible if the bike was not secured."
