I have yet to figure out the offensive woes at LSU and who's to blame for that. Cameron was a good play caller in the NFL, but hasn't really earned his pay at LSU in my opinion. But then again, I don't know if Les is holding him back from opening things up.

Les Miles: Both coordinators will coach from the sidelines in 2016

LSU’s coach Les Miles will have both of his coordinators close-by this season. Following a closed practice Monday, Miles revealed offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda will both be coaching from the sidelines in 2016.

Cameron spent his entire tenure at LSU coaching from the booth before coaching from the sideline during the Tigers’ 56-27 Texas Bowl victory over Texas Tech in December.

ā€œThis will be the first time all of my coordinators will be on the sidelines,ā€ Miles said.

He did, however, admit that the decision of having both coordinators at field level ā€œcould change,ā€ but it ā€œappears to him,ā€ that all will go as planned during LSU’s first game.

ā€œAs best as I got it today, he’s going to be on the sidelines,ā€ Miles said of Cameron. ā€œYou could ask me that same question tomorrow, and he’s probably going to be on the sidelines … Until we’re probably about 10 days out, then we’ll refigure it again, and then, he’ll probably be on the sideline.ā€

Copying is the sincerest form of flattery !! Saban had Kirby on the sideline for those years and Kiffin now on the sideline for his 3rd year. Some coordinators get a better feel and flow for the game IF they are on the sideline. A lot of the old OCs like the view from the pressbox. As a former coach, I am split as to where I'd rather call a game.

I like it. In the hurry up we run and getting reads and plays in, it has to be a great advantage for the QB and entire offense to look the OC in the eyes and make adjustments. Maybe Les is trying to reinvent his O in new and different ways for real?
