| FTBL LSU vs. FLORIDA

I hate this BS. Hate it.

If you know of a defensive line that doesn't talk among themselves about hitting the QB hard enough to make the opposing team go to their back-up, please point that team out to me.

It's a freakin' contact sport people!!!

I can just see it now...a safety stating "I'm going to hit the receiver hard enough to make him drop the ball, but not hard enough to make him think about me the next crossing pattern he runs."

His comment wasn't taken out of context. The problem was he said it out loud, to the media. Now, they are going to make as big of a deal as they can of the statement.

Geez. Political correctness on the football field! Nothing more, nothing less.

If we had a defensive lineman that wasn't hitting the QB as hard as he could we'd be calling for him to be benched...and, our staff would bench him because he wasn't playing with the intensity he can play with.

LeSU, you don't need to be making statements like "it was taken out of context."

I got it. I understand it. I would expect nothing less from our team. It's not like he was talking about breaking his neck, but yes, he was talking about ringing his bell loud enough to put him on the bench.

Geez...ticked me off seeing that on Sports Center this morning and ticks me off still seeing it here...

From what i have seen reported, it was a very bad comment to be making. Like i said if someone has something that contredicts what i have read than i will stand corrected.

"I meant as a defense we are going to try to make him ineffective" - Ricky Jean.

Ok so why did he make the comment about a Florida having a good medical staff, he meant he wanted to HURT Tebow and they have a good Medical Staff for him on Sunday. So he meant to say " we want to make Tebow ineffective and they have a good medical staff for him on Sunday"....That doesnt make sense, I'm with TerryP on this; i read the comments i know what he meant, just shutup and play ball.

What I mean by taking out of context, Is they were assuming that Ricky-Jean meant malicious, Cheap-shotting Tebow which is not the case at all.
Like you said the D-line is suppose to go after the quarterback and we know Tebow is the star of the team and that is what they are suppose to do.
Take their best player out of the game by providing pressure and hitting hard so he is hesitant when the D-Line approaches on every play. ESPN was ridiculous about the comment and they were calling for Ricky-Jean's Head.
Ricky-Jean and our Defense need to step up since they have been playing average. He is the leader of the defense and he was trying to get our defense motivated.

Should he have rephrased it? Yes. But we arent talking about a bunch of English Majors either. Give the guy a break. Even most of the Florida media didnt think much of it, It was ESPN that made all the Ruckus.

Taking someone out of the game can mean just neutralizing what they do best, as in a lock down corner taking Harvin out of the game with superlative coverage.

What do they major in coon a$$ they are colleges students so they should know how to express what they are saying. And yes I do believe he mint they are going to try to hurt Tebow like any team should.

Major in CoonASS? Real Cute. You act like Alabama Football is full of Rhode Scholars and from your grammar it looks like you majored in Redneck.

This is football not English. Get over it.

with all due respect no one hits, collides or "brings it" harder or with more authority than The University Of Alabama....we simply chose not to announce it beforehand... :D

Well said. I thought the whole thing was too silly to waste any time commenting on, but I'm glad you did, so that I can just say.....

I agree with Terry.

What I really mean't was I admire Timmy Tebow and want to hug him and kiss him and love him! Ricky Jean Francswah (or however you spells it)

I do not want to knock Timmy arse out cold or stomp on his grave or beat his cute little a''s or pound him like a bull-elephant!

And let me say here & now I'll beat the hell out of anyone who says otherwise!!!

;flame

Cheap shots put people out of the game.

Hard clean hits rarely do.

I highly doubt he meant they were going to "make him ineffective" or "we are going bring it and hit him play after play".

Just my opinion though. It's not like it's new for T squared though. He hurts the d linemen.
