Since everyone's gripe down in Baton Rouge was Les Miles' bullheaded unwillingness to change offensive philosophies, do they go after Tom Herman?

The selling points would obviously be money, and playing in a big conference, especially since the Big12 doesn't have Houston in their plans for the foreseeable future...

Thoughts?

They are going for the biggest name out there. It's just what we do. Helton ain't him. Jimbo is and so is Herman, Petersen and those of that ilk. As soon as they have said no and most probably already have they go to plan B. That would be Orgeron and if the crazy Cajun doesn't capture their imagination they go to plan C, Charlie Strong, Petrino, freeze and the like.

For Christmas sake.

I got Helton and TOM HERMAN's names mixed up in my head while typing the OP.

I edited it, so revisit the edited question, please sir?

If the ESPN rumor is true it sounds like Herman has been gift wrapped for the Longhorns. And no one will out-bid Texas if they want Herman. But LSU spends a lot of money on coaches. I believe their old OC, Cam Cameron, was the highest paid in the SEC.
