Update... [LOL]

If you know LSU fans, you know this is the norm.

I think that's a little too encompassing but from what I've been told about the Dekes on LSU's campus this isn't anything new. Evidently they put up something like this on a sheet every time they host a game.

Something this inappropriate? I don't have anything to base that on...

Also, from what I'm told, these Dekes would be in a world of hurt if frats had APR guidelines to follow.

I think that's a little too encompassing .

I'm sure that's true. My wife and I were driving down I-65 to b'ham for a lsu game with our 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter when a grandfather and grandmother decked out in purple and gold pulled up besides us. My son said "daddy look" and when I did they were both shooting my 5 year old son a bird. I've been to every stadium in the SEC except for A&M and Missouri and have never been treated worse than the lsu fans. they have no regard for children sitting with you and I've seen them fight and brawl outside the stadium, sometimes with each other, at every game I've ever been too. So I shouldn't throw a blanket over all of them like I did in my original post but my experience has proven it to be right.

There are quite a few I've ran across that have similar experiences.

Their fans are...well, let's call it a "sect to themselves." Unique, no doubt.

What Terry is saying without coming out and saying it... is they're assholes.

Believe you me, if I were thinking they are assholes, I'd have said, "assholes."

I've been to BR twice for football games and a few other times for other sports. I've never had a bad experience. Granted, a few wanted to throw as many profane and vulgar bards as they could think of...all I could say was "good effort, keep trying."

FWIW, two worst experiences with fans from other SEC schools come from UGA and then UofSC.

After seeing the way UGA fans trashed our campus in 1994...it'll take a minor miracle for me to gain the least amount of respect for that entire fan base.

I grew up a Georgia fan before attending Alabama, and I completely understand where you are coming from. Georgia fans are a bunch of stuck up assholes that claim a National Championship every pre-season and speak of undefeated seasons each and every year. Most of their fans are belligerent white trash that aren't even worth getting mad about, while others are self-entitled assholes that have never earned anything and only go to the games because the accolades their team wins (it's a way to get drunk and be "cool"), not because they are true football fans. South Carolina fans are pretty bad as well. I went to a game at Williams-Bryce and a old man and his wife almost ran over my 8 month pregnant wife while we were still within the stadium perimeters ( I promise it wasn't our fault and we were not in the way, yet walking out like the other 80,000 fans) and when I ran in front of the car to force him to stop another fan picked a fight with me since I was from the opposing team. So after dropping that dude in his footsteps we just left vowing to never go back. Tennessee fans are pretty obnoxious as well. I spent an entire game getting the business from a six year old. One of the most annoying games ever since I couldn't say anything back due to his age.

My wife's father is an LSU fan and he is from Louisiana. You can sense the trash within him. I have gone to an LSU away game with him and their fans are pretty much the same, no one you really want to hang around with unless you're forced to. They're a bread of their own, that's all that can really be said.

Went to that one. Been there.

Explain to me this, why the hell do they think that "barking" at opposing fan bases is needed? Like what human being gets the thought through their head that "if I bark, I'll impose fear into the other fan base". Like honestly, its like they have no sense at all.

I have been critical of Texas a good bit in the last few years, but I don't know of any of their critics who would evoke the shooting incident that they had on their campus in the sixties. The LSU frat invoking the Kent State incident way beyond being in poor taste IMO.
