🏈 Look’s like Pollack is gone

ESPN was great when it was more about the content than the people behind the desks. Now over the years you had guys on SportsCenter who evolved in their roles and their personalities become big... some too big, but for many of them it added something to the shows, didn't detract from it. The early days of Baseball Tonight, College Gameday, and College Football Final were all really good IMO as well. The problem I think is when the Internet and highlights on demand forced ESPN into pivoting, and they felt the need to make it more about the personalities and people behind the mics. All the shitty shows where folks sit around and debate each other and such. The politics certainly didn't help them with some either. But it stopped being about the Sports a long time ago and they leaned too heavily into the Entertainment, which isn't what got them to their heights of popularity.
