🏈 Looks like Kenny Bell is hanging them up...

At least according to his Twitter... Reason given is to focus on his family. If true, Saban will certainly address it during his press conference later today.

Kenny made some big plays during his career and always gave great effort. Battled his share of injuries too. Best wishes to him in the future...

If I am not mistaken, Kenny graduated last December. If so, it could be that he sees himself falling down the depth chart and feels he needs to move on and start making some money for his family. If he is making the decision with his family in mind and all the information available to him then I wish him well and thank him for the last few years.

Just an observation... Kenny's situation is unique (kids, graduate) but I think there could be a mass exodus at receiver if the wealth is not spread around. Cooper is getting a lot of primary looks even with tight coverage.

Forced progressions for reads led to AC getting targeted is my conclusion. I didn't pay a great deal of attention to possible dump-offs and I suspect AJ didn't either.

I think you're on to something. Instead of Cooper replacing Jones after his injury, they're both in the mix at the same time, starting. Don't know what would've transpired on sacks, but Bell had one pass thrown his way, Jones three, one for Norwood and ELEVEN for Cooper. Also, White had three thrown his way (two from AJ, one from Sims), catching both to AJ's passes.

Maybe I'm wrong, but did Norwood not have a catch?

Mass exodus was an exaggeration... Maybe 'some defections' would be a better choice.

Nonetheless, it's disconcerting to fans and probably teammates that a well liked top receiver leaves in mid-season short of a family emergency.

I know it is hard for us to imagine a player leaving at the start of season like Kenny. I could imagine that if any of us had chance to even be on the team we'd give up just about everything to be there.

But I cannot think of a more admirable reason to leave the team than to take care of family. He certainly has insight to his NFL prospects & cannot imagine the pain of closing the door on this chapter in his life, especially as the season progresses. But taking care of his responsibilities could be the most basic, simple, & clear motive that more men need to step up to. My hat's off to him.

Roll Tide Roll Sir!!!
