When Miles took over at LSU, I said that he would win some games because they were loaded with talent, but he tends to lose a game or two that he shouldn't, and his defenses give up too many points - something that has been covered up a bit by the extreme talent level down in Baton Rouge.

This season, Mile's defense has given up more points on the year than 4 of the 5 defenses Saban fielded at LSU. They have given up over 40 twice this year...even though they were OT games, they were OT losses. Great defenses step up.

LSU is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, but it is declining fast. His recruiting has been good but not Sabanesque. It is only a matter of time before Miles is beating Florida and losing to Tulane in the same season...he has a track record of that. At Okie State he beat OU and lost to La Tech...he was giving up 40-50 multiple times per season. History will repeat itself if he does not go to Michigan.

At LSU, Saban gave up over 40 three times in five years- twice to UF and once to UGA.

At OSU, Miles gave up over 40 nine times in four years.
He did it against Missouri (before they were good), Texas Tech, Texas, K-State, and OU. Three of those times it was over 50. He gave up 39 to La Tech (LaTech was not good that year). His teams scored a lot of points but did it by running up the score on weak sister teams.

It is playing out about like I figured it would. If he stays, they will slide in Baton Rouge.

Saban and Miles had different defensive coordinators, right?

As head coach, Miles is ultimately responsible, but the onus shouldn't be placed solely on him for all of LSU's defensive woes.

Also, a couple of those scores are really deceiving because of multiple OTs.

Don't get me wrong; from the day Miles was given that job, I have always said if he stayed at LSU after Saban's recruits had graduated that he will meet a similar fate like Mike Archer did once Arnsparger's players left.

Let the downward slide begin.
