Just saw a video of Finebaum interviewing an Orlando Sentinel columnist who is declaring UCF National Champions, too. He isn't just saying he thinks UCF deserves to be in the playoff, he is outright lashing out at people who think his claims are foolish. He even argued that UCF's wins over Memphis are bigger than any Alabama win (he doesnt count Clemson because reasons).

Money for nothing? UCF giving coaches bonuses for 'winning' national championship

With all the talk around UCF “winning” a national championship, people started getting curious what AD Danny White’s bold claims actually meant.

When teams win actual national titles, there’s a lot of money that needs to be paid out to those involved in the team’s success.

That led one fan on Twitter to ask White if he planned to pay the UCF coaches the incentives they would receive for winning a title:

To his credit, White said the coaches had been informed earlier in the week that they will indeed receive championship bonuses, so they’ll be happy to hear that:

The Knights are going all in on their title claim, as White also said the team would hang a banner for it in their stadium.

Others may not recognize the Knights’ title, but they’re not letting that stop them from laying their claim on the prize in every way possible.

I had a couple of Barners to chime in on a Facebook post of mine. I asked them how thrilled were they that they beat both BAMA and UGA in the same year, made the SECCG, lost to UGA, lost the Peach Bowl to a G5 team in UCF, and shelled out another $49 million over 7 years for a 4 loss coach!!!! They shut the hell up REAL QUICK!!!!

As for UCF staking a claim, who cares? The winner of BAMA/UGA will be recognized by the NCAA. Much like our '41 claim, I don't like it and think we should drop it and at best add the '66 title claim. They will be the Orlando Sentinel Champion!!!
