🏈 Look at the huge decrease in the number of people watching the CFB Playoff rankings show.

Horse shit. The sport is not dying but there was literally no one outside of College Station that honestly thought they were going to crack the top 4. No drama = no viewership.

Also, to put it succinctly, the whole social justice thing was off-putting to a broad audience that follows sports. The viewers are not just down for college football but across sports in general. Prove me wrong.

No drama = no viewership.
I think you're hitting part of it there exampled by Bama and Clemson only missing one playoff season.

Also, this term "viewership" really doesn't fit here. The eyeballs are down just like the length of the damn program is up. I didn't watch the show but waiting about 15 minutes past the hour and then jumped on Twitter to see Notre Dame. And then an hour later I checked in to see if they had reached the NY6 games.

How many found out through Twitter, or Facebook, or sites like this one?

put on dvr....did something important....came in and got the matchups....location..
Fast forwarded for those.....then watched the interview with Nick segment...
Then deleted...watched...10 minutes...( forgot watched Dabo too....since he was so anti osu getting in with 6 wins)....

I’ve never watched it and I remain respectfully one of those folks who watch even the shittiest bowl games (nods to @50+yeartidefan )
I'll watch MASH (like when TV Land finally reran a few MASH shows this morning) and Seinfeld episodes all day. :)

I do get your point though. You'd think the viewership would be up a bit more this year since there was no guarantee about OSU, Notre Lame, or tamu. Even the Cincinnati people had to have some curiosity.
Sure you have had a bunch to chose from....

@bama alum....
Lol...love so many old shows...
Just got the WKRP in Cincinnati series....
Twilights Zone all episode....

some reruns are good.. @It Takes Eleven....
but pass on shit bowls....and talking heads shows...

I make sure I enlighten and raise my students' cultural literacy by showing them the clip of the turkey drop the day before they get out for Thanksgiving. No, none of them have ever heard of WKRP.

its the most of classic episodes....
And really..”turkeys have wings...who would have thought they couldn’t fly?” ( actually they can in the wild)
and few...very few...on here would have a clue what we are talking about...lol

@Brandon Van de Graaff that's a shot at you; Seinfeld, Cheers...

You'd think he'd have a kinder, more gentle nature this time of the year.

Gonna have to have a thread this summer... "If you could only watch 10 tv shows for the rest of your life, name them..."

As for the playoff show ratings, not too surprising. I watched the 1st year just to see if Bama got in, then went about my business. Haven't watched since. Having it at 11 am or noon or whatever they do now on a Sunday doesn't help them though.

Sure will tell everyone’s age.... but .....be interesting....

I meant, without Terry's characterization, that the selection show has become predictable, like a re-run.

I have re-watched many sitcoms, movies and Bama games over the years. I really miss PC Alabama Enthusiast's play-only versions of Bama games. He didn't do it this season.
