I really don't think Mizzou is a good fit. I think the whole TV market thing is WAY overdone. People in NYC watch SEC football all the time - and I know this to be true - b/c it's the best football and has the most powerful and compelling teams. People watch Notre Dame and USC all over the country as well. This is because they are major traditions and PERCEIVED to be powerhouses. The SEC is, and is PERCEIVED to be, the best conference in college football because it has THE best teams with the most tradition as well.
So now we are going to chase TV markets in Missouri?!? That's ridiculous. Mizzou was rejected by the Big 10 and we don't need cast-offs. Further it is not "southeastern." The brand "SEC" is about top tier football, not about top tier TV markets. We dilute the brand if we don't bring in top tier teams. We need to be going after Florida State, Clemson, Oklahoma, or even Miami and yes I know Miami is about to take a major slide but they will return and they are a major powerhouse historically. Nothing against the people in Missouri or even their TV markets, but as a football program, Mizzou is PERCEIVED to be middling at best and that is not good for the SEC.
