Personally I think they're terribly overrated.

overrated in the sense that they are NOT a hard rock band compared to Godsmack or shinedown.....but for what they do, you cant deny the talent. Did he crossover or just grow up and write songs reflecting that, ala Van Halen after Hagar.

on a side note I have had the oppurtunity on 3 different occasions to work among Jon Bonjovi....and he is the most gracious and down to earth guy you could ever want to meet

Personally I think they're terribly overrated.

That depends largely on who is doing the rating.

The alleged "crossover" to country is a way of expanding their listening audience and recapturing a demographic that has migrated from played-out classic rock to mainstream country over the last decade. Like them or not, I'd say their 30 years of success is pretty well documented and it's pretty ridiculous to deny it.

It's a business and the mailman delivers checks every month.
