The kick would have missed miserably had Cody not blocked it.

The Goal Post can be seen in the background, but its supporting post which is centered in the width of the field can not be seen in the photo because it is too far to the right.

The point of the kick is directly under the holder's left hand.

Connecting these two points would show you the path that the ball would have had to take to be good.

Connecting the point of the kick with where the ball actually flew places the ball on a path which would have taken the ball WAAAAY left from that distance.
